B. Answer all questions in a single document,
clearly distinguishing between parts A and B.
Question 1 A has to be answered within a word limit of

Assignment Part B – 35%
East Riding of Yorkshire Council in the UK is a geographical
region. The geographical region of East Riding of Yorkshire
Council has four hospitals and three blood banks facilities.
The three blood banks facilities are coordinated through a
central office that facilitates blood delivery to each of the
four hospitals from the three blood banks facilities within the
geographical region of East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
The cost to ship a standard container of blood from each
blood bank to each hospital is shown in the Table 1 below.
Table 1 below also shows the daily number of containers
available at each blood bank and the daily number of
containers of blood needed at each hospital.
As a data scientist – you have been requested to advise the
Public Health Authority in East Riding of Yorkshire Council
on the “How many daily shipments of standard container of
blood should be made daily from each blood bank to each
hospital so that total shipment costs are minimized?”
