An old friend with whom you have shared the problems of your love life for years has recently changed when around you: The formerly casual hugs and kisses have become longer and stronger; and the occasions where you “accidentally” brush up against one another have become more frequent. However, you are currently in a relationship with someone else. Your significant other has a growing suspicion that something is going on, producing a strenuous communication climate in the relationship. How will you handle both of these relationships? Explain how Communication and the Self (Ch 3), Perceiving Others (Ch 4), and Emotions (Ch 8), play into your reactions and response to handling the situation for both people. Be sure to explain your reaction and response by using two or more relevant terms from each of the three chapters in your answer.
